Whether packing for a ride in the stroller or a day at the ballpark, a cooler pack with balanced and simple choices make for a much healthier experience than the typical concession stand run.  These on-the-go food packs will keep your whole family ready to go.

Simple items and finger foods are easy to pack.  Pick a choice from each category to offer balance for a family on the run.  Some of my favorite combos are highlighted at the end.

Fruit:

  • Pears
  • Strawberries
  • Blueberries
  • Raspberries
  • Pre-sliced watermelon
  • Pre-chunked pineapple
  • Grapes
  • Apple (possibly pre-sliced if plan to use for dipping)
  • Clementines
  • Bananas

Veggies:

  • Celery sticks
  • Grape tomatoes
  • Baby carrots
  • Cucumbers
  • Snap peas
  • Broccoli florets
  • Cauliflower florets
  • Pre-portioned guacamole
  • Single pack olives

Grains:

  • Pretzels
  • Whole grain tortilla chips
  • Popcorn
  • Veggie straws
  • Whole grain tortillas/pitas

Proteins:

  • Peanut butter or almond butter
  • Hummus
  • Nuts
  • Seeds
  • Sliced turkey
  • Cheese sticks
  • Yogurt
  • Dried meat stick (we love Simply Snackin’)
  • Hard boiled eggs
